Pursuant to the temporary authority given by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to POLO Dubai, the latter can now verify the employment contract of returning seafarers. Verified employment documents will then be submitted to the Balik-Manggagawa Processing Division (BMPD) for evaluation and issuance of OEC.

Pending the review of the of the proposed Interim Guidelines on the Accreditation of Principals, Documentation, and Standard Employment Contract of Filipino Seafarers On-Board Yacht in the United Arab Emirates, the BMPD of POEA is likewise directed by the Administration to temporarily process subject seafarers as Balik-Manggagawa workers. Seafarers will undertake that the temporary processing would be a one-off exemption and shall hereinafter source the services of a licensed Manning Agency (LMA) for the issuance of Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) for their subsequent exits from the Philippines.   

Seafarers shall secure appointment (https://bit.ly/3vs131H)  for their contract verification with POLO and present their employment documents. They are likewise required to submit the accomplished One-Page contract for seafarers (https://bit.ly/3tBegUu).

Further advisory on the current regulations on the recruitment and deployment of seafarers including the procedures and guidelines in the accreditation of principals and enrollment of vessels will be issued.
