POLO VALIDATION ON VACCINATION CARDS/DOCUMENTS OF RETURNING OFWS

Pursuant to IATF Resolution Nos. 123-C and 124-A, series of 2021, the Philippines has identified a list of “Green” countries/jurisdictions which have met the prescribed incidence rates and case trajectory on Covid-19.   Beginning 05 July 2021, Philippines Overseas Labor Offices (POLOs) can accept proofs of vaccination status exclusively from returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), for validation/certification purposes.  With POLO-validated certificates, OFWs shall be entitled to a shortened seven (7)-day facility-based quarantine upon arrival, thereafter they are enjoined to monitor themselves for the next seven (7) days.

DOLE Department Order No. 226, series of 2021, provides for the Guidelines on the POLO validation process of vaccination cards/documents of returning OFWs who were fully vaccinated abroad.

The United Arab Emirates is not in the current list of countries identified as “Green” countries/jurisdictions.

As such, POLOs, including POLO Dubai, which do not have jurisdiction over the listed countries/jurisdictions, will not be able to accept or evaluate any application to validate the vaccination status of OFWs.
